Elseworlds Gave Arrow A Season High Ratings Boost

Elseworlds Gave Arrow A Season High Ratings Boost

As one would expect, more eyes are affixed to the Arrowverse whenever those annual crossovers roll around each fall. Really, even lapsed and casual fans can’t help tuning in because there’s just something so appealing about the superhero team-up concept.

So far, it remains unclear if “Elseworlds” will turn as many heads as 2017’s “Crisis on Earth-X” did, but it’s proving to be a kick-ass affair, regardless. Unfortunately, not as many viewers were on board for Sunday night’s opener on The Flash as I would’ve hoped, but things did pick up last night.

More than likely, it was the Batwoman factor that provided Arrow such a boost. In fact, it managed to pull in 2.04 million viewers for a 0.4 ratings share in the 18-49 demographic. Suffice it to say, this was a season high for the Stephen Amell-led series. Normally, it’s been roping in 1.22 million viewers for a 0.4 share on a weekly basis, but saying those not regularly participating are missing out is a discussion for another day.

Though it didn’t take part in this year’s crossover, we’d be remiss if not mentioning the Legends of Tomorrow also reached a season high of its own, perhaps benefiting from occupying the time slot to follow on such an important night. Funny enough, the time traveling series experimented with alternate realities in its own way, treating us to “Custodians of the Chronology,” “Sirens of Space-Time” and “DC’s Puppets of Tomorrow.”

In case you were wondering, that enjoyable insanity drew 1.11 million viewers for a o.4 share. That may not be quite what Arrow achieved, but it’s not too shabby, either.

Given all this talk about ratings, I must admit I’m curious to see how Supergirl‘s portion of “Elseworlds” will fare. As always, you’re encouraged to keep watching this space for more.
