Daryl Dixon is the unexpected face of popular AMC series The Walking Dead, but what is there to know about the man behind the crossbow, Norman Reedus?
We’ve seen some truly spectacular television finales over the past 10 years – Breaking Bad, Mad Men… Lost? – but not many have divided opinion quite like Game of Thrones.
The HBO fantasy drama made the controversial decision to truncate its final two seasons, which resulted in a total episode count of 13 – as opposed to the usual lot of 20 – to properly bring down the curtain on one of the most ambitious TV shows of the modern era. And sure enough, if season 7 felt rushed, the eighth and final outing flew by us at breakneck speed.
Cities collapsed, dynasties fell, and fan favorite characters were brushed aside in favor of the core storyline. Indeed, it was nigh on certain that Game of Thrones season 8 would divide viewers into two camps, and though many are now having difficulty adjusting to a world with no GoT, it seems that it’s not only the fans who are struggling with life after Thrones.
Page Six is reporting tonight that Kit Harington has checked himself into rehab for alcohol use and stress. Apparently, the show coming to an end “really hit him hard” and since May 19th, he’s been at a Connecticut mental health retreat.
“The British actor has been undergoing psychological coaching, practicing mindful meditation and cognitive behavioral therapy to combat stress and deal with negative emotions at the facility, which costs over $120,000 a month,” the report says. “His actress wife Rose Leslie, 32, whom he met on the set of Game of Thrones and played Jon Snow’s Wildling companion Ygritte, is being ‘extremely supportive,’ we’re told.”
“He realized ‘this is it — this is the end’, it was something they had all worked so hard on for so many years. He had a moment of, what next?” a source told PageSix. “His wife Rose is being extremely supportive. Everyone close to him really wanted him to get some rest. Right now, he just needs peace and quiet.”
Continuing on, the outlet notes that apparently, Kit looks “really good” and for the moment, is totally “focused on his health and wellness” and dealing with his issues.
“The actor has been allowed the freedom to leave the facility for breaks over the past month and has been seen by locals in Connecticut heading to AA meetings, a fitness and wellness studio, plus a local book store. On the same weekend of the Game of Thrones finale, he was spotted at RJ Julia Booksellers in the small town of Madison, Conn., telling staff he was on ‘holiday’ in the area, according to local reports. One resident who has repeatedly seen the actor in recent weeks on his trips out of the facility told us, ‘Kit looks really good and appears to be very focused on his health and wellness.'”
Furthermore, Harington’s camp has confirmed that his stint in rehab won’t impact any of his upcoming work, and he’s simply staying in the facility during a break in his schedule.
“Kit has decided to utilize this break in his schedule as an opportunity to spend some time at a wellness retreat to work on some personal issues,” Harington’s rep told Deadline. “It definitely won’t impact any potential upcoming work.”
So, all things considered, it doesn’t sound like the Game of Thrones star is in too bad of a spot right now, and though we imagine it won’t be long before he’s back on his feet, we still wish Kit Harington all the best and hope that his time in rehab can help him overcome the struggles that currently plague him.
The two Marvel veterans finally got to work together through All Creatures Here Below.
On a professional front, John Cena is known far-and-wide as an actor and professional wrestler. But there are a few details about his personal life that you may or may not know about him.
For those growing up in the latter years of the 20th century, a major motion picture release wasn’t complete without an accompanying game on the computer or console of the moment. It is a tradition that started in the early 80s with the ill-fated Atari interpretation of ET: The Extra Terrestrial, but the fact that the game was a flop did not discourage the developers.
Over the years, there have been hits as well as misses, with games like Alien Isolation, Lord of the Rings and Spiderman II doing an effective job of capturing the tone of the movies. Even Bond has had the gaming treatment, and the 1997 release Goldeneye has gone down in history as a classic, actually going on to make more money than the film on which it was based.
Are film-based games in decline
The late 90s might have been a golden era of games for film buffs, but you could be forgiven for thinking that today, they have gone out of fashion. When Wonder Woman burst back onto the big screen in 2017, there was no high-profile video game to accompany her, something that would have been unthinkable 15 or 20 years earlier. The same applied to Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. A Pirates of the Caribbean movie release with no corresponding game? Changing times indeed.
Changing the paradigm
The problem has always been that games and movies are very different media, but become forced to co-exist, and work to each other’s schedules and deadlines. This leads to games being hurried to market, with the inevitable impact on quality. Add to that the licensing headaches, and you can see why film producers are choosing either to steer clear or to leave the movie open to a wider form of interpretation.
Movie based games are still out there
Just because the latest release is no longer accompanied by a cellophane-wrapped game at an eye-watering price, don’t assume there are no longer gaming interpretations of movies. For example, movie related casino games have been around for as long as we have had video slots, and the online age has brought us more choice than ever. Jumanji, Gladiator, The Dark Knight and a whole host of Superman slots are just a few of the titles you will quickly come across if you scour the casino sites.
If gambling is not your speciality, there are other online games based on current movies that have a wonderfully 90s retro feel to them – but without the price tag. Pirates of the Caribbean games are as popular as ever, and the latest one, Tides of War is absolutely free to download and play. The developers make their money through ads and in-app purchases that are by no means mandatory.
Search any new Disney movie and it is the same story. Even cash cows like Frozen have been given the free app treatment, with swiping and jewel matching galore. The truth is, movie-based games are still out there if you know where to look. And often, they don’t cost a penny.

According to past reports, it was being said that makers of Indian 2 were facing a dilemma owing to the not-so-impressive response that Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 received last year. We all know that the film was a grand project and millions were spent on its VFX. On the other hand, the Kamal Haasan starrer thriller sequel Indian 2 too was expected to be made on a huge budget. It was being reported that the makers were not ready to take that risk after the 2.0 experience. Owing to the same, it was being said that they would probably shelve the project. However, Kajal Aggarwal busts the reports in recent reports.
As per these reports, Kajal Aggarwal asserted that not only about doing the film but she also revealed that she will be shooting for it from next month, that is, from June 1 onwards. Furthermore, she expressed her excitement of working with Kamal Haasan too. Apart from that, she also assured everyone that the makers are indeed retaining the grand scale of the film unlike what the buzz had to say!
Speaking of Indian 2, the film, directed by S Shankar, will take forward the role of Kamal Haasan as a vigilante who could go to any extent to punish the ones who corrupt the system. While the 1996 prequel starred Urmila Matondkar and Manisha Koirala as leading ladies, we hear that this one will have only one leading lady.
Last year, Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger quickly became one of Hollywood's hottest couples. Here's the scoop on how they came together, how they got engaged, what their marriage plans are like, what the future holds for them and more.
Since its early beginnings science has come a long way. There are many scientific achievements that define the way we live now, the most recent of which is the first photo of a Black Hole. When science and imagination merge we get a genre that’s called science-fiction. In literature this genre is represented by Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Philip K. Dick, Stanislaw Lem and many others. But what actually is science-fiction and why is it popular?
Most people don’t like today’s state of the world so they try to imagine a better one, a future state where today’s problems are history. Science- fiction tackles a lot of scientific problems. For example, it tries to present what futuristic transportation would look like. This includes small space crafts that fly and can be driven on land and water, as well as gigantic interplanetary spaceships that make a trip to another planet as easy as pie. Another questions sci-fi tries to answer is: are we alone in the universe? Some movies and books depict a friendly version of aliens, while others do not. And last but certainly not least is the question of Artificial Intelligence. Should robots be given the ability to think and would they try to take over our lives? These questions give people the shivers and science hasn’t got an answer yet, so we leave it to our imagination to fill the gaps.
Nowadays, there are many sci-fi movies that give their best to show us a better or worse future. Since there are a lot of movies there are a lot of ways you can watch them. You can buy them, online and offline, or you can watch them on specialized movie platforms. Many websites keep trailers of films so you can decide whether a movie is worth the watch. For example, besides YouTube you can watch the Pikachu movie trailer on a number of other sites.
As mentioned before, platforms like Hulu, HBO Go and Netflix offer movies at any time for anyone with an Internet connection. Because different people live in different countries there are platforms which offer Netflix VPN services. A VPN is a network set up to add privacy and security to private and public networks. You can use this type of network, for example, to stream movies so people from all over the world could watch them.
Whichever platform you use, if you’re a sci-fi fan these 3 franchises are a must:
3. Star Trek: The Original Series
These are the first Star Trek series that follow Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise in their adventures and mishaps through space. Although it’s an oldie, you have the chance to see your favorite characters and everyone’s favorite villain and leader of the Klingons, the mighty Kahn himself in the first season.
2. Doctor Who
This is a British TV series airing on BBC since 1963. Doctor Who is a Time Lord, an extraterrestrial being from another planet that appears human and changes his look form time to time. He travels time and space in a ship called the TARDIS, shaped like a blue British police box, and sometimes takes companions on his adventures.
1. The Star Wars
The Force resides in all living things, young Padawan. All you must do is reach out to it. The first movie franchise comprised of six films but with new films being made and released the total amount would be 11. By watching them you can get acquainted with life on other planets protected by the benevolent Jedi Order, their philosophy on the Force, and meet the bad guys, the Sith who try to take over the universe and restore their Empire. If you have already watched them you can visit their website for the latest news.

Even though I cover a handful of conventions in the Detroit area each year, there are none quite like Motor City Comic Con. I don’t know about you, but there’s just a certain feeling that comes over me once I set foot in the Suburban Collection Showplace every May. This time was especially significant because I was able to take part in the event’s 30th anniversary celebration.
Had you dropped by Novi this past weekend, then you may agree with me in saying that attendance records may very well have been shattered. Fortunately, the venue expanded its showroom space, thereby making the area nearly twice as large. If you don’t believe me, check out an overhead shot of what probably accounted for only 20% of what was there to be explored in the gallery below. And while you’re browsing the slideshow, feel free to admire some choice cosplayers as well.
I think a variety of factors contributed to the success of 2019’s convention, but the celebrity guests on hand no doubt played a big part in attracting attention. For me, Brandon Routh (Superman Returns, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) took the cake, though interviewing Nick Castle (Halloween) was an experience I’ll never forget. Speaking of which, you’re encouraged to stay tuned to We Got This Covered for coverage from Routh’s panel and the aforementioned conversation with The Shape himself.
In addition to those fellas, geek royalty such as Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Endgame), George Takei (Star Trek) and three key members from the cast of Lucifer – Tom Ellis, D.B. Woodside and Lesley-Ann Brandt – were there to greet eager fans. It was also apparent that pop culture was being celebrated in a broader scope this time around, as stars of shows such as The Office and Sons of Anarchy were also taking photos and signing autographs.
Still, the comic book side of things wasn’t forgotten. Heck, even industry legend Jim Lee dropped by for a bit on Saturday! But for those who weren’t able to meet him, big names like Sean Gordon Murphy (Batman: White Knight), Joe Prado (Superman), Eddy Barrows (Detective Comics) and Steve McNiven (Civil War) were there in full effect. Needless to say, artists from far and wide also had tables of their own, with local rising star Brian E. Lau rolling out his new book, Inferno City Firehouse.
Like I said earlier, the showroom floor was absolutely impressive, and I tried to visit as many exhibitors’ booths as I could. Yes, I did drop some cash, but I showed enough restraint as not to bankrupt myself. Special thanks go to Fanboy Collectibles for allowing me to get a few shots of their handsome cabinets filled with awesome statues. It’s things such as those that catch my eye most at cons, along with action figures and, well, comic books, but let’s not take anything away from prop dealers and crafters, either. There was something for everybody.
At the time of this writing, Motor City Comic Con 2019 is now a memory, but I’m already pondering how next year’s installment may shape up. If you’d like to attend, know that May 15-17 have already been booked for the 2020 edition.
Now the countdown begins…
