Here’s Every Pokémon Who Appeared In The New Detective Pikachu Trailer

Detective Pikachu is slowly building up an enormous amount of hype as its release quickly approaches. Though it was a bit of an eyebrow-raiser at first due to casting Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu and having a pretty surreal sounding plot, the movie’s been going down so well with fans that Legendary’s already developing spinoffs for their new cinematic universe. Folks have also been kept happy thanks to a well thought out marketing campaign that’s gradually revealed the film’s takes on their favorite Pokémon.

Speaking of which, a brand new trailer dropped online earlier today and it featured a ton of the aforementioned creatures, some of which were on display for the first time while others we’d already seen in previous footage. But with so much going on in the preview, you wouldn’t be blamed for not catching all of them and thanks to the folks at ScreenRant, we now have a complete rundown of which Pokémon featured.

Here’s the full list.

  • Pikachu
  • Ludicolo
  • Charizard
  • Charmander
  • Growlithe
  • Golurk
  • Machamp
  • Snorlax
  • Snubbull
  • Bulbasaur
  • Lickitung
  • Squirtle
  • Pancham
  • Illumise
  • Psyduck
  • Jigglypuff
  • Loudred
  • Blastoise
  • Gengar
  • Cubone
  • Eevee/Flareon
  • Greninja
  • Aipom
  • Mewtwo
  • Mr. Mime

It’s an exhaustive list, but rest assured all those characters appeared and if you head on over to Screen Rant via the link below, you’ll find a detailed breakdown of where each of them showed up. Or, you can just watch the trailer above at the top of this page and keep your eyes peeled. Your choice.

Anyways, things are certainly looking good for Detective Pikachu right about now, as it’s been testing off the charts, while the general consensus appears to be that this love letter to all things Pokémon will be a global hit at the box office. After all, Nintendo’s powerhouse franchise has been a worldwide sensation for more than 20 years now, and no one can deny that Pokémon continues to evade the common pitfalls often associated with franchise fatigue. Let’s just hope Detective Pikachu honors that trend.

New Walking Dead Promo Reveals First Look At Beta In Action

We’ve already got to know Alpha, leader of the Whisperers, over the past few episodes of the back half of The Walking Dead season 9. Next week’s episode, however, will throw her right-hand man Beta into the mix. And this promo for episode 12, titled “Guardians,” gives us our first look at Ryan Hurst’s character in action.

Beta features in a clip in which he gives Alpha some words of advice in their conflict with the survivors. “We need to protect ourselves,” he growls. “We need to be ready.” It sounds like Beta’s worried that Alpha’s actions are opening them up to new dangers. However, he’s still loyal as he’s seen helping her don her zombie face-mask, a moment previously featured in the season 9B trailers.

Elsewhere, it looks like there’s going to be a lot of turmoil ahead for Lydia and Henry. The teens developed a bond last week but this promo shows Lydia having to play down their connection to her mother, who’ll apparently want to confirm her daughter’s loyalty. It seems a punch to the face isn’t good enough, as the trailer ends with Alpha throwing a knife down at Lydia’s feet, with Beta holding Henry still. But will she go through with it?

The synopsis for “Guardians” also teases that problems will arise in one of the communities – likely Alexandria – just when they need to stick together to defeat the Whisperers. We also don’t like the sounds of “deadly consequences.” We can’t see Lydia actually killing Henry, so who else is going to face their fate? Read the plot description below and decide for yourself.

“While one community struggles to ease tensions that threaten to divide from within, the true nature of another group comes into focus; a mission to rescue a friend has deadly consequences.”

The Walking Dead 9×12 “Guardians” airs on AMC this Sunday.

91st Annual Academy Awards Live Results & List Of Winners

The 91st Annual Academy Awards are finally here, and who knows how they’re going to play out? Ironically like many of the films it’ll be honoring, the yearlong buildup and campaign for the event has been plagued by backstage controversies – with the hiring and prompt resignation of would-be MC Kevin Hart to the debacles concerning its runtime, it looks like the host-less Oscars won’t be giving out jet skis for shortest acceptance speech this year.

With that in mind, the purpose of the Academy Awards is to celebrate 2018’s greatest movies; and following the trend of the show’s last several seasons, this year’s nominees are in themselves historic, not only for their diversity, but also for the genres and studios that they represent.

Roma, director Alfonso Cuarón’s heavy contender, racked in 10 nominations, tied for most of the night with The Favourite, as well as most ever with Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for nominations received by a foreign-language film. Not only is Roma part of that select group of foreign-language films to be nominated for Best Picture, it’s also the first to be nominated released by a digital streaming service: Netflix, which also received three other nominations for The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.

Also, the prominence of Black Panther, with 7 nominations across the board including Best Picture, is an accomplishment for both the worldwide cultural phenomenon, as well as the superhero genre and Marvel Studios, who also received a Best Visual Effects nomination for Avengers: Infinity War. That’s 8 nominations in total for the superhero genre, one which hardly ever receives recognition beyond the technical production categories.

With all that said, it’ll surely be an interesting night. This is the first time the show will be going on without a host since that weird Rob Lowe/Snow White duet in 1989. Though that probably won’t happen again, be on the lookout for any wandering dwarves.

Here are the results (continue to refresh as we’ll be updating this article throughout the night):

Three Famous Poker Movies

The love affair between the film industry and gambling is well known among moviegoers and it has every chance to result in a long-term relationship. Hollywood loves the topic and not surprisingly, there were dozens of casino and poker movies produced over the years. Many of them are not worth watching, especially by those who already know a great deal about the games, since they feel superficial. There are however a few movies that are a must-see for poker fans, not only because of the stellar acting but also because of the role they’ve played for the online poker industry. Playing mobile casino UK games is very popular in Britain and below are some classic casino and poker movies!

Casino Royale

Ian Fleming’s iconic character used to play a high-stakes version of baccarat called Chemin de Fer, but Casino Royale has changed all that. In the movie, Daniel Craig portrayed James Bond and instead of baccarat, he took on the main villain in a high-stakes game of Texas Hold’em. The movie was immensely popular and it sparked a wave of enthusiasm among people who were only moderately interested in poker. One of the reasons for why it had such a powerful effect upon players is that it was produced under the supervision of a poker expert called Thomas Sanbrook. He went to great lengths to teach the actors how to play the game in the most convincing manner possible. Nothing was left to chance and seemingly unimportant details such as the handling of cards and chips and the staredowns were carefully practised.

Rounders

While there are many who credit the classic Casino Royale movie with the role of making online poker popular, another famous movie can claim the merit. Rounders has a stellar cast, with the likes of Matt Damon, Edward Norton and John Malkovich turning a regular gambling movie into a gem. The manner in which the story was told, the superb acting and the solid narrative contributed to the success of the movie at the box office. The high-stakes poker games played in the underground world captivated the audience and for many casual players, it provided the impetus to take things to the next level. It really captured the energy and intensity of the game, even though most of the key hands were exaggerated. As a result, the popularity of Texas hold’em, both online and offline surged in the wake of the release of this movie.

High Roller: The Stu Ungar Story

When discussing the most famous poker movies, critics have the tendency to forget the High Roller: The Stu Ungar Story. What makes this film exceptional is not only the great acting and attention to details, but also the exceptional story. Speaking of which, it is one of the few poker movies inspired by real events, as it follows the rise and fall of Stu Ungar. The best gin Rummy player in the world and an exceptional poker talent, Stu became the youngest player to win the World Series of Poker Main event. Sadly for him, he dug himself into a deep hole because of drug abuse and was unable to claw his way back into the light.

Mahesh Babu has run into tax trouble and GST is the reason!

Mahesh Babu has run into tax trouble and GST is the reason!
Known for his superstardom down South, Mahesh Babu recently kicked off his own theatre under his banner AMB Cinemas. However, the new chain has ran into trouble over GST [Goods and Services Taxes] and the actor’s team has even been sent a legal notice regarding the same. Mahesh Babu has run into tax trouble and GST is the reason! If recent reports are to be believed, there have been some modifications made in GST which the theatre and movie chains were supposed to implement from January 1. However, while very few of them have followed these instructions, this movie chain owned by Mahesh Babu has failed to do the same. The GST anti evasion team has decided to take action against the multiplex chains that has failed to implement the same and one of them is AMB Cinemas. The legal notice is with reference of flouting of norms and according to the GST anti evasion team the action is being taken because these chains have failed to reduce the ticket prices despite the revision of GST. If reports are to be believed the notice was issued against AMB cinemas for violating the anti-profiteering clause under the CGST act. Moreover, it has also asked to deposit the illegal earnings in the consumer welfare funds. The team of Mahesh Babu is yet to respond to these allegations. On the other hand, Mahesh Babu was recently caught in another tax trouble when he failed to pay Rs. 18.5 lakhs he owed the IT department. However, he had responded to the GST Commissioner after the latter sent a notice to the Telugu superstar. As for work, Mahesh Babu is busy with Maharshi which is in the final stages. The film will see the actor in the avatar of a collegian and in a much leaner look. He will be starring opposite Housefull 4 actress Pooja Hegde and the film is scheduled to release April this year.

Old DC Comics May Have Influenced The Look Of Gotham’s Joker

TV – We Got This Covered
Old DC Comics May Have Influenced The Look Of Gotham’s Joker
Wed, 20 Feb 2019 00:44:39 +0000

Given all that’s transpired over the past few days, I think it’s safe to say we can put our suspicions as to whether or not Gotham‘s series finale will feature the Joker to bed. After all, there was that grainy photo showing Cameron Monaghan sporting a purple suit and heavy makeup making its rounds, and then a couple of hi-res shots shortly thereafter.

To the surprise of nobody, this heavily scarred and mostly bald take on the Clown Prince of Crime is being met with both cheers and jeers. After all, Jeremiah Valeska already looks like the Ace of Knaves in the most classic sense, only with differences in lipstick and hair colors.

Truth be told, this unfamiliar appearance may have been inspired by the comic books themselves. Those familiar with Earth-2 as it existed before the days of the New 52 might remember how its version of the Joker (seen below) actually outlived Bruce Wayne, and went on to confound Robin and Huntress. And though Gotham‘s Mr. J boasts only a few strands of stringy hair, his ‘do could’ve been influenced by that handsome Hulk Hogan-style skullet.

Come to think of it, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen such a thing outside of comics. During one of Batman: The Brave and the Bold‘s standout episodes, “Knights of Tomorrow!,” viewers were treated to a possible future that saw Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle murdered by the Joker’s successor, only to have the original reveal himself as being not unlike the Earth-2 version we’ve been discussing. But most unfortunate for those two evildoers, Batman (Dick Grayson) and Robin (Damian Wayne) thwarted their scheme in the end.

I guess we’ll ultimately have to tune in for Gotham‘s series finale this spring in order to learn more, but before then, don’t miss what’s sure to be a pivotal moment during “Ace Chemicals” this Thursday night on Fox.

Rian Johnson’s Star Wars Trilogy Rumored To Be Geared Towards Younger Viewers

We Got This Covered
Rian Johnson’s Star Wars Trilogy Rumored To Be Geared Towards Younger Viewers
Tue, 19 Feb 2019 01:31:09 +0000

Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi was widely praised (or in some cases, not) for its more mature take on the Star Wars property, but according to a new rumor relayed by Now, This Is Podcasting! (via Reddit), the director’s upcoming trilogy could turn out to be surprisingly kid-friendly.

According to the show’s sources, Johnson’s next three contributions to the franchise will be geared towards a younger audience, with the report even going as far as to suggest that the trilogy could end up being G-rated. Seeing how the word “Wars” is in the very title of this series, it’s hard not to be skeptical about the new claim, especially when Johnson’s own track record – from Looper to Brick to Breaking Bad – has hardly been in a G-rated vein. At the same time, we currently have next-to-no idea what sort of story Johnson is looking to tell with his trilogy, so as unlikely as this rumor sounds, perhaps the director can still do what he’s known for and subvert our expectations.

In any case, Johnson’s trilogy sounds like it’s still a long way from going into production, with the filmmaker’s next feature Knives Out not due for release until November. In the meantime, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have reportedly been offered a trilogy of their own that they’ll begin work on once they’re finished with the final season of Game of Thrones.

As with Johnson’s trilogy, details on Benioff and Weiss’s project remain vague, though actress Emilia Clarke last year offered her prediction that the pair is going to deliver something akin to “Star Wars on acid.” That remains to be seen, but first, J.J. Abrams will be wrapping up the current trilogy when Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20th, 2019.
